PCB plate for tool lenght sensor

PCB plate for tool lenght sensor

Postby thegardener » 25 Jun 2012, 20:55

I just watched in some videos that there are people using a empty pcb board with two wires soldered as a tool lenght sensor.

Are the input 5 and ground both soldered in the pcb board? or one in the PCb board and the other in the spindle??

If one it's connected in the spindle, in what part of the spindle i need to connect it??

Thanks!!

Input 5 is connected to PCB, ground is connected to spindle.

Nice!

Connected like that is working, I activated sensor in the inputs tab, when i touch the spindle with the pcb, it makes contact.

But suddenly I can home my machine, the home button appears gray.
I'm trying to calculate my machine size, do the calculations for homing, etc...but I can't jog.

It's so weird.

And the limits switches are working (they flash in the screen when I hit it) but they don't stop the axes.

Everything was working fine.

Check your sensor connections. Perhaps it is picking interferance.

sorry to revive an old thread like this, but this is not working with latest version of CNC USB Controller. The menu is completely greyed out and from I understood warp function only works with mk3 board.
Is there any previous version of the software which works with the probe?
