z axis problems

z axis problems

Postby rod75 » 15 Oct 2016, 10:08

Hi
I am having problems with the zero of my z axis when running. I am trying to cut a simple A B C
The Gcode is set to cut the holes first and then the perimiter. The zero is the top of the workpiece and the
clearance plane to 6mm. The gcode runs correctly in the simulator and also in the software.
The problem is that when I cut the hole in the A itcuts ok but when it raises out of the A to go to the B it raises 12mm instead of the 6mm. So that when it cuts the first hole in the B instead of cutting the material on the first pass it is 6mm higher. When it finishes the first hole it raises 18mm above the material and so starts
its first cut on the second hole of the B 12mm above the material. The Z axis reading in the software is stii correct showing where it should actually be.

Hope I have explained this well enough. Could anybody help.

Many thanks

Please also post your settings file. File/Export Settings

Maybe this has got something to do with tool length offsets.
