what types of inductive proximity switches ( MK 3/4 Board )

Postby safran » 29 Oct 2016, 08:42

Hello, I'm Safran from Germany.
I want to connect inductive proximity switches for the limit-switches with my MK3 / 4 Board.

1. Is it better to use NPN or PNP switch types?
2. How must they be connected ( +24V and GND to switch, switch-output and GND to board? )
3. I want to use one switch per axis. Am i right in this case?
Thanx for answers

If you would use our adapters, PNP would be recommended:

You can use one switch per axis, but usually two limits per axis are used.

i need some help whit setting up pnp limetid switch on the mk3 controler

i understand that you need a optocoupler and find the shematic how to connect the sensor
see link https://planet-cnc.com/using-optocouple ... ontroller/

then i looking to the 12v shematic
but what i not understand where you take the 5 volt power

on the limet connector you dont have 5 volt
do you need separte power supply ?????
or can you take some where else 5 volt

You can use 5V from Axis or Output terminals
