Problems with floating head.

Problems with floating head.

Postby Mr.Emo » 26 May 2017, 20:24

I am trying to figure out how to get my floating head to work.

There is a NC switch that is being held down by a plate that the torch sits on. So the normal state of the NC switch is NO. When the switch is pushed up it goes back into the state of NC.

I have connected the wires into the input board 1 and 2. I have tried to change the input from sensor and tool sensor but I can't get it to work.

G00 Z6
G04 P1000
G00 Z1

This is the code I am running. When I manually activate the NC switch to simulate the torch hitting the metal nothing happens. Not as a sensor or a tool sensor. I have also tried switching between NC and NO but neither seem to work.

I also have a limit switch on the Z axis. When I activate this however the Z in the planet cnc software jumps from whatever the Z value is to Z -67 and then proceeds to go up to Z6 before continuing with the code G04 P1000 and G00 Z1.

Any tips?

I figured this out. Was a problem with offset in the program. Also connected the sensor to the wrong terminals.
