Output board question

Postby Mharter » 31 Jul 2016, 23:48

Is the output board absolutely necessary to control the spindle on/off, fwd/rev and spindle speed for the mo 3/4 board or could I use a standard optoosolated 3 channel relay board as well? Just curious if that would be possible. Or even a 2 channel relay as lines only come from 2 of the channels on the output board to the VFD, if I am reading the wiring diagram correctly.

Of course it is not absolutely necessary. You can use your own board with relays or SSR.
Make sure that you convert freq. signal from controller to 0-10V signal if you will use analogue voltage for spindle RPM control.

How do you convert the frequency signal? Is that in the VFD? PD070.

I wired up a two channel relay last night. Got the spindle to turn on but couldn't get it to initiate spin. I must need to figure out a way to tune the voltage. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated.
