Hi.

I am currently building my second CNC.
This time i will build big and i will do it correctly. I am going to buy a mechanics kit from CNCrouterparts.com but i have bought the USB controller from Planet-CNC.

My plan now is to build the control cabinet.

The system will consist of:
1x CNC USB Controller Mk3
1x Screwterminals
1x MPG pendant with adapter
1x Adapter for 16 pin header
1x Output board

4x 12N.m Nema 34 Hybrid closed loop stepping motor
4x 2HSS86H drivers

1x 360W Switching Power Supply Switching Driver 5v / 12v / 24v
2x 1200W Switching power supply 48V 25A

1x 2,2kw water cooled spindel with VFD
1x Metall fuse cabinet 70x50x20

All cables will be aircraft wires with shielding.

Cabinet whit components starting to get installed.

So since im not working on the project everyday things are going slow.

But i am allmost there!
In June i ordered the CNCrouterparts.com PRO 4824 and it has arrived.
I also ordered some big ass hybrid steppermotors, the only thing i have not ordered ned is a new spindel and VFD, and i have to think alittle about doing that.

When i ordered the PRO 4824, i forgot to order their legkit. and it would be to expencive, with shipping it would cost about 1000USD including tax to get it from the US. So i found a aluminium extrusion guy on Aliexpress that could make something simulare for only 250 USD :-D

Last sunday i opened the PRO4824 and started assebmly

After about 4-5 hours i got this far

Here you can see the size difference on the my old NEMA23 vs my new big ass nema 34

And i had to have 4 of them! :D

I have mounted the controller, power supply and started wiring up everything.
My goal for this weekend is to do first power check and test the stepper motors on the bench.

I have printet heatshrinking tubes to hold controll over all the wires

The cabels for the steppers are installed, and they are shielded from the power supply all the way to the steppers.
